Your Feedback

Our plans are still emerging, and we want to hear from the community about the different aspects of our proposals.
The following questions ask for your feedback on certain parts of the scheme.

Your feedback will be anonymised and shared with the design team. It will also be included in a public report to the council, but again it will be anonymised.

Erewash needs to build over 500 homes per year to support its growing population, and Peveril Homes are proposing up to 100 new homes, including affordable housing which could be of a variety of types, including some that could be kept back for people with existing links to Breaston.

The affordable homes provision could come in different forms, such as:

  • New homes sold at an ongoing 20% discount
  • Socially rented homes, let at discounted rates (usually 50%)
  • Affordable rented homes, let at discounted rates (usually 20%)
  • Bungalows for residents with mobility needs
  • Shared ownership where the owners pay rent on half the property, with the other half covered by a mortgage
  • New homes, discounted and marketed solely to local families &/or primary occupations

Our proposals make several improvements to infrastructure and connectivity to support the new community, which include:

  • Foot and cycle paths linking the site with the wider village and the fields
  • A new vehicle access from Draycott Road
  • Flood mitigation for all the onsite water, which is then released in controlled flow to the existing watercourse

The scheme will provide a range of new amenities for new and existing residents, which could include a play park. We are interested in possibly providing additional amenities or funding as part of the next stage of our plans.

Peveril Homes' plans will enhance and protect the surrounding natural environment by improving access to the fields around the site and include green space to the south bordering on Draycott Road.

Our proposals are for an outline application, with a reserved matters application coming further down the line, should we receive approval from the council. We are seeking to develop a scheme which meets the housing needs of Erewash, while still being sensitive to the needs of the existing community in Breaston.
